$20k spent on trees
It has been revealed that The Dark Knight Rises team has paid over $20k to the town of Pittsburgh to replace trees damaged during filming.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 24 trees in the streets of Pittsburgh were chopped down in order to make the set look like it was being shot during winter. The team was forced to pay thousands of dollars to remove the leafy trees which were originally meant to be plucked as officials worried the trees would suffer permanent damage.
The film's team also donated $20,000 to a non-profit group, the Tree Pittsburgh, in order to get new trees planted in the city.
