Bale, Hathaway and Batwing in Newark

Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway have been spotted in Newark, and the Batwing has been seen on rooftops. There have also been eyewitness accounts.














Okay so I just got home... Pretty boring start, it's 5am and only the PA's and camera crew workers are walking around set setting up.. One PA comes up to me and my brother and starts joking saying that there is no filming for TDKR and that its for some rom com, whatever.. he was clearly bullshitting with us. So after a while of talking he started telling us whats to be filmed and how a majority will be interior (which unfortunately he wasn't lying..) He tells us who's going to be there by whispering silenty .. "CB, AH.. NY (new york) TH" telling us that christian bale and anne hathaway were going to be on set and tom hardy in new york..

It's 7am now and I see Christian Bale walk down the transit steps.. HOLY SHIT was my first reaction ... wheres anne? I run back to the PA who tells me she should be showing up any minute... An hour later he goes down the stairs to the filming and comes back up telling us she is already there in FULL COSTUME with Bale..

Batman and Catwoman were fighting down in the tunnels, they filmed for 5hrs.. Extras went in and out, Cops went down, and then SWAT.. a controlled explosion supposedly too.. Everyone who went down there had to wear a hard hat and glasses. Tonight they film the SWAT and Cops driving to the tunnel

At least a hundred fanatics went wild as actress Anne Hathaway, who plays Selina Kyle and her alter-ego Catwoman, made her way down Raymond Boulevard in a hooded black jacket and black rubber boots at around 11 a.m. The red-lipped Hathaway, a Millburn High School graduate, kept her black-masked eyes covered as she smiled and waved to the cheering crowd. With the help of a security guard, she slipped down into the set at Military Park Station near Park Place.

"She looked like she was really happy to see all this (the crowd)," said Carly DiFrancisco, 24, who waited nearly an hour to catch a glimpse of the masked actress. "It was worth it."

Director Christopher Nolan, clad in a hardhat, occasionally popped out from underground, inciting cheers from star-struck fans. Around noontime, several extras in SWAT uniforms could also be seen making their way to the Gotham City subway set. - Patch.com

Theatrical trailer with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Batman-On-Film.com has reported that the theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will be shown with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Released on December 16th, it is a sequel to 2009's Sherlock Holmes. Directed by Guy Ritchie (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrells, , RocknRolla), it stars Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man, Due Date), Jude Law (Contagion, Hugo), Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Prometheus), Jared Harris (Fringe, Mad Men), Stephen Fry (Alice in Wonderland, The Hobbit), Kelly Reilly (Eden Lake, Above Suspicion) and Rachel McAdams (Morning Glory, Midnight in Paris).

Murphy refuses to talk

To promote his new film In Time, Cillian Murphy, who plays Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, was interviewed by GQ. When asked about The Dark Knight Rises, he said (with a slight smirk visible): "I don't have anything to say. I'm here to talk about In Time."

In Time is out now. Directed by Andrew Niccol (Lord of War, The Host), it stars Justin Timberlake (The Social Network, Bad Teacher), Amanda Seyfried (Jennifer's Body, Red Riding Hood), Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy, Cowboys & Aliens), Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four, Beastly) and Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory, Hancock). Murphy plays Timekeeper Raymond León, the villain of the story.

Jonathan Nolan on series' end

HeroComplex recently spoke to screenwriter Jonathan Nolan about his new TV show, Person Of Interest, and of course they mentioned the Batman films. Here's what he had to say:

On what to expect from The Dark Knight Rises:

"There’s a little team of Warner Bros. ninjas that follow me around. If I open my mouth, they’ll be like, “Quiet!” and pop! A little poison dart."


On the franchise finally coming to an end:

"It’s bittersweet. It’s been the last nine years of my life. It’s very exciting, and we’re happy to be finishing the story, but I’m going to miss that character. I’m very excited to have been building this kind of universe that we’re all putting together in New York. I think it’s very distinct from the Batman franchise, but it has a couple of elements in common, so I’m excited to be able to continue telling these stories."

Scenes with Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox), Gary Oldman (Jim Gordon), Marion Cotillard (Miranda Tate/Talia Al Ghul) and Juno Temple (Holly Robinson) were also shot in Newark City Hall:

The city's epicenter (Newark City Hall) was turned into what appeared to be a mock infirmary and ghetto, with cots lining the hallways and people dressed as vagrants, starting fires and wielding machine guns.

On the first floor, in the rotunda, wooden chairs were set up in rows, facing west, towards the front of the building. Very few people were seen in that area.On the second floor, crews had set up a makeshift first-aid area, surrounded by cots.

On the third floor, Freeman and Cotillard were seen filming a scene. Freeman, who plays Lucius Fox, was sitting on a chair in the hallway, while Cotillard, who plays Miranda Tate, was two feet away, leaning against a rail, overlooking the second floor. Freeman wore a black suit with a purple shirt. Cotillard was in a blue shirt with black pants.

Dozens of extras were seen on every floor, wearing ragged sweaters, trench coats and vests. Some carried fake weapons.

A letter given to people who entered the building warned of "contained fires" and loud noises, including simulated explosions and gun shots. - Patch.com

At the Military Park Light Rail station, a sign that pointed pedestrians to Trinity Cathedral had been edited. "Gotham Museum" and "Gotham Library," were printed in the same font. "Gotham Transit Authority" also seamlessly blended into a sign at the entryway to the rail line, both mentions easy to miss if you weren't looking for them. - nj.comLots of gunfire inside.
