More photos of Bane's device
These set photos show the mysterious device that Bane (Tom Hardy) refers to as "the instrument of Gotham's liberation". One of the pictures shows the Batwing hovering over it. The device appears to be some kind of bomb, as a timer can be seen on it.

Will Estes talks role
Will Estes, best known for playing Jamie Reagan in the TV series Blue Bloods opposite Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg, has talked about his role in The Dark Knight Rises:
Jeffrey Harris: Alright, now suckas gots to know. What is going on with your shooting on The Dark Knight Rises? What is going to happen to Batman? What is going on with Catwoman? Do you get a makeout scene with Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle? What is going on, we got to know.
Will Estes: If they gave me a cat, no pun intended, to let out of the bag, I would do it. I had a blast. I worked a couple days. I'm supposed to go back and do some more. I'm playing a police officer, but I'm a huge fan of the Dark Knight series, especially Chris Nolan's work on it. I'm a huge Christian Bale fan. He looks incredible in the suit. I got to actually see the Bat-pod go by, the motorcycle with the huge tires. It's been a blast and there's no cat for me to let out of a bad, but I'm looking forward to seeing the film myself.
Jeffrey Harris: So you're not going to put on a mask and red suit and become Robin? Or perhaps become Nightwing?
Will Estes: You know I was talking to Chris about that. I suggested it, but he didn't seem fired up about it.
Jeffrey Harris: It seems Nolan does a good job of giving even some minor and incidental characters in his Batman movies some presence and screen time. Do you know what type of character you will have and will you get some lines on film?
Will Estes: Yeah, I've got a few lines. To be totally clear, they didn't sit down and break down a whole script for me. And that day, on the day, things got added a little bit. And I'm excited about it. I think frankly between you and me, it's a part that could get cut out of the film and it would still be a complete movie. But I had a blast working on it. And if Chris Nolan says, "Would you be in my movie?" I got to say yes. I had a great time and I look forward to seeing it.
Jeffrey Harris: If you got cut out of the movie, we'd have to start an online campaign to make sure you stay in.
Will Estes: I've just been telling all my friends that I'm Batman. It just sounds better.

Scream Awards video
Here is a video of Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon-Levitt picking up the Most Anticipated Movie award for The Dark Knight Rises at the Scraem Awards. The award was presented by Mark Wahlberg.
Pfeiffer on Hathaway
Michelle Pfieffer, who gave a very memorable performance as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Batman Returns, has recently commented on the casting of Anne Hathaway in that role in The Dark Knight Rises:
"I think [Anne] is going to be amazing. She has the darkness and the comedy — she’s got it all! She’s going to be great."

Occupy Wall Street protests to make appearance in The Dark Knight Rises?
The movement known as "Occupy Wall Street" was started last month in Lower Manhattan and has spead to many other cities across the US. It has even spread to my home city of Dublin, Ireland. I see those protestors every day!
The movement seeks to bring attention to banking deregulation, Wall Street bonuses and other practices that supporters say threaten the prospects of the working- and middle class.
But now it could be making it's way into the biggest film of 2012. Christopher Nolan is apparantely planning to use these protests as a backdrop for scenes in The Dark Knight Rises!
The LA Times reports:
"Under its code name "Magnus Rex," the Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures production will arrive in the nation's biggest city for 14 days starting Oct. 29, according to a casting notice recently issued by producers. And, according to a person briefed on actors’ schedules who requested anonymity because production details were being kept confidential, cast members have been told the shoot could include scenes shot at the Occupy Wall Street protests."
".. While the person who’d been told of the plans said the protests could figure into the production, they said that doesn't mean they will be included in the storyline."
If the protests will not be included in the storyline, what is their purpose? Could they serve as Gothamites protesting against something else?

Murphy interview
Cillian Murphy, who plays Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow, was recently interviewed by BBC’s Kermode and Mayo’s Film Reviews, where he commented on his involvement in The Dark Knight Rises. See what he had to say:
Hathaway and Gordon-Levitt duet once more
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who plays John Blake, recently held an annual Fall Formal with his colaborative project, hitRECord, at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. He performed for 1,600 people, and was joined onstage by his The Dark Knight Rises co-star Anne Hathaway, who plays Selina Kyle/Catwoman. They performed together at the BFI in London earlier this year to 450 people. They performed with hitRECord user Lorraine (also called the Metafictionist), singing a French song written by Irishwoman Sarah Daly, who penned Morgan M. Morganson's Date with Destiny.
Rob Brown joins cast
Rob Brown, who found fame in the films Finding Forrester with Sean Connery and Coach Carter with Samuel L. Jackson, has joined the cast of The Dark Knight Rises. His role is not yet known.
Michael Uslan interview
Michael Uslan, who has been an executive producer every live action Batman film, including the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, recently spoke to High-Def Digest about his involvement in the films:
HDD: You clearly have a love for Batman. What is it about the caped crusader that captures your interest?
Michael Uslan: He’s a super-hero who has no super-powers. His greatest super-power is his humanity. I could strongly identify with him and believe in him. Also, he has the most primal origin story that anyone can relate to on a deeply emotional level. And… he has the world’s best super-villains!
HDD: Did you face a lot of rejection when trying to get the 1989 Batman film made? Tell us about some of what you went through.
Michael Uslan: I was told I was crazy, that it was the worst idea they ever heard, and every studio turned me down. Favorite rejections: "Michael, Batman will never succeed as a movie because 'Annie' didn’t do well." "Michael, Batman and Robin won’t work as a movie because the movie Robin And Marian didn’t do well." "Michael, nobody’s ever made a movie out of some old television show!" "Michael, audiences will only remember and love that Pow! Zap! Wham! funny guy with the pot belly." "Michael, Superman is the only super-hero from the funny papers who is big enough to be made into a motion picture feature."
HDD: After Batman Returns the franchise went in what many consider to be a very unpleasant direction, culminating in Batman & Robin, which upset fans and scored poorly with critics. How did you feel about the film?
Michael Uslan: It was the TV series Redux.
HDD: Which of the Batman films is your favorite and why?
Michael Uslan: Batman because it was my dream-come-true after well over ten years, Mask of the Phantasm because some of the best stories about Batman ever made came from the brilliant folks on the animation side, and the Christopher Nolan trilogy.
HDD: What can we expect from the new film? Is there a worry about living up to Heath Ledger's much praised portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight?
Michael Uslan: July 20, 2012. Fasten your seat belt!
HDD: You pushed to get Batman into theaters and a comic book movie boom followed. Do you feel that your efforts influenced the movie landscape as it is today? Michael Uslan: The first Batman film in 1989 was revolutionary. To this day, Burton’s vision, Furst’s designs, and Elfman’s music seem to reverberate through all genre pictures. Their influence has been enormous and pervasive. Nolan taught Hollywood the art of the successful reboot and Bond, Star Trek, Superman, Spider-Man, et al owe what they are doing to his influence. I’m happy to let history answer this question over the years.
HDD: Tell us a little bit about your book, The Boy Who Loved Batman.
Michael Uslan: It’s intended to motivate young people so that if they burn with a passion for something in life, my story will prove to them that if they get up off the couch, forfeiting their sense of entitlement that the world owes them something, and instead make a commitment to knock on doors till their knuckles bleed, maintaining a high threshold for frustration, they, too, can make their own dreams come true.
HDD: What's next for you? Are you sticking with Batman or do you intend to keep branching out like you did with Constantine and The Spirit?
Michael Uslan: I have many fun and favorite projects in the works from the pages of some famous and historic comic books and comic strips and now there’s strong interest in my turning my book into a feature film a la A Christmas Story.

Better quality Bruce Wayne video
Here is a better quality video of Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) arriving at the Biltmore Hotel in his Lamborghini Aventador. He walks with a cane and is asked where he's been by the reporters. Has Bane (Tom Hardy) broken the Bat? Or is he still injured following his encounter with Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart) in the last film (he fell two stories)?
Insider's scoop on the Batcave set
Razvan Draguo of The Dark Knight Rises Community on Facebook visited the Romanian cave that's being used for the Batcave. Here's what they found out:
OK, peeps, here goes nothing ! I went to the mines with my guides on Sunday. They were closed but Andrea called in some friends of hers that work in the mines (the mines are still active). We had an interesting conversation at one of the guy's place. Here are the conclusions.
- there were three actors that had scenes in the Batcave. One of them was a woman. It was not Catwoman, sicne the only costume available there was the Batsuit. The woman was dressed casual/civilian.
- the crew shot there for a week, no vehicles present. Two scenes shot in the elevator.
- the mines equipment and "amusement park" was covered in green and blue screen, with the exception of the medical center, which was kept in the shots
- the mining tunnel (used for truck to get salt out) was shot but no vehicles present, like I stated before. I think Nolan is either hiding a new Batmobile or, more likely, plans to CGI the Batwing over the shots.
- the staircase near the elevator was not covered in any green screen, which seems odd, since the original staircase in BB was metallic, this one is wooden.
- some screens were added to the cave (probably batcomputer) - all had green screens
- Bale appears dressed as a civilian, in the Batsuit with the cowl and...wait for it...without the cowl ! (hope its a front shot, cuz we never saw him from the front without the mask!)
- The miners were given a free day in the last two days of shooting (no witnesses?) and it was said another actor is joining the cast. The female actress only shot in one day
- the boats one the water were removed as a request during the filming.
- (unconfirmed) the guys said they heard people say the crew will stay for another week in Cluj, where they supposedly shot on the Citadel (personal impression - the exterior of the Batcave - I shot a video and some pics of the exterior on Monday before leaving - pics and video uploaed on the group. I could not get any reaction from City Hall and Sonia from Castel Film Studios did not know anything

New set vids, description
Here are some new videos from the set of The Dark Knight Rises. They feature the Batwing, as well as Batman (Christian Bale) on the Batpod being chased by police.
Here are some descriptions from the set:
SHH's RED SKULL - stuff like papers and debris blew through the air and they had a fan on but I did not see snow...and seeing as how they got GPD in the shot, then I don't think so.
Basically the shot was Modine (we think it was him) and JGL sitting in a squad car looking up at the Batwing as it goes by as the cops train their guns on it
Gordon levitt and a blonde haired man in a brown overcoat are in a cop car as the swat have guns poised on the batwing as it flies over
Theyre swinging the batwing out on cables. About to do shots of it
The batpod sputters to a halt and he gets off and they follow. No snow in this scene
SHH's JL UNLIMITED
Went to watch filming today. There were a bunch of Gotham police cars and swat trucks a few blocks from where they were filming. A few people stopped to take a pictures of the vehicles, myself included. Haha. When I got there, I guess they weren't using the Gotham police officer extras at the moment so a bunch of them (I'd say 50 or so) were scattered all over hanging around looking bored. I caught some laying on a steps of a office building a few blocks from the filming site and one of them was even smoking a cigar. Haha.
The main filming area had Gotham police cars and swat tracks in the middle of the street. I was a little saddened because the PAs kept pushing us further away and I wasn't expecting to see much but then they started flying the Batwing on cables! If flew in between buildings and elevated higher as it flew at a fast pace over the Gotham police cars and swat trucks scattered in the street. It really does look massive even from where I was standing which wasn't close at all.
What I thought was a bit funny was that they wouldn't let anyone walk through the street where they were filming but you could see a lot of clubbers walking out from that area. I guess there was a club nearby where they were filming? Some of them looked tossed, including one guy who tried to pick a fight with one of the Gotham police officer extras and got pushed away by security and one girl who was completely hammered and looked like she was about to throw up as her bf was helping her walk.

Modine interview
Matthew Modine, who plays Nixon, recently spoke to Province writer Glen Schafer to promote his experimental short film Jesus was a Commie. During this interview, he also talked about The Dark Knight Rises.
GS: Are you planning to come up for the screening?
MM: I'm still hoping there will be a change in the schedule. I'm working on The Dark Knight Rises. This is my third city now on the film. I was in Pittsburgh and London. They've done six cities, they've been in India, Scotland, Wales, London, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and we finish in New York. Christopher Nolan is arguably one of the best filmmakers working today, and what he has is an extraordinary team of technicians and artists working with him, and he just keeps getting ahead of schedule, so things keep moving forward, the schedule keeps changing.
GS: I have to ask -- who do you play in The Dark Knight Rises?
MM: Yeah, I can't tell you. I had to sign three non-disclosure agreements: one to read my part, one to read the script, and one to not discuss anything that takes place on the set. Other than to say that it's extraordinary working with Nolan. The other actors from top to bottom -- Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Anne Hathaway -- everybody is bringing their A-game, everybody wants to be there, there's not a knucklehead on the set.
GS: Do you know when it wraps?
MM: We'll be finished in November in New York City.
Bruce Wayne drives Lamborghini, walks with cane
In these set pics and video, Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is shown arriving at a party in his Lamborghini. There are a number of things amiss. There are no girls in tow, he walks with a cane, and the paparazzi ask him where he's been. Does this support evidence of Bane (Tom Hardy) breaking his back?
First official synopsis?
This is apparently the first official synopsis for The Dark Knight Rises. It is said to have come from sheets handed out at Warner Bros. booths at the Cannes Film Festival (pictured above). Be aware, it gives no new information.
"Every hero has a journey. Every journey has an end. Christopher Nolan returns to complete the epic Gotham trilogy that launched with Batman Begins and reached the stratosphere with the billion-dollar blockbuster The Dark Knight. Inception's Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levett join the cast regulars along with Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy as the powerful villain Bane, while Oscar winner Christian Bale prowls the night as the Caped Crusader, fighting crime and corruption with the help of Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman."

Temple comments on Holly Robinson rumour
Juno Temple, who is rumoured to be playing Holly Robinson, sidekick of Catwoman, recently spoke to MTV about this. She neither confirmed or denied, simply stating: "No comment."
However, she did say this about The Dark Knight Rises: "It's sensational. Truly. It's a very, very cool thing to be a part of, [but] I'm not allowed to talk about it."
She was asked about the leaked photos and videos: "I haven’t seen any of it. I don’t know jack shit about it, and I want it to be that way. I want to be surprised. I love those films. The whole point is to go and see it and have your mind blown. It’s an experience, you know?"
She currently plays Danielle in Dirty Girl, which also stars Milla Jovovich (Reseident Evil, The Three Musketeers), William H. Macy (Shameless, The Lincoln Lawyer), Mary Steenburgen (Step Brothers, The Help) and country singer Tim McGraw (The Blind Side, Country Strong) and introduces Jeremy Dozier. She will soon play Queen Anne in The Three Musketeers, also starring Jovovich, Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Lightning Theif, The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Matthew Macfadyen (Frost/Nixon, Robin Hood), Ray Stevenson (King Arthur, Thor), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey), Mads Mikkelson (Casino Royale, Clash of the Titans), James Corden (Gavin & Stacey, Lesbian Vampire Killers), Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) and Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds, Water for Elephants).

Batcave set description
Batman-News.com user ChicagoBat recently visited the set of the Batcave on The Dark Knight Rises. According the this report, it will be very similar to the one in Batman Begins:
"Visiting L.A. and had a friend working at Sony Studios show me the Batcave set. It’s half finished, and pretty much looks like the same set we saw in “Batman Begins”. They’re still completing the quarry walls but the wooden manor foundations were all there in the corner. They may add more set dressing with equipment and such but don’t expect a radical redesign as most fanboys are expecting."
"Funny thing was I asked the construction guys if they were using the same blueprints/plans from Batman Begins to match continuity, they said no, but as the set resembled the cave from Begins and I’m a detail freak who knows the movies, (right down to the waterfall entrance where the tumbler flies through) while they may have had new blueprints I could see it was the same cave from seeing the foundation beams that were iconic from the first movie. Also the stage can hold water, they’ll fill it when the quarry wall work is finished and they pull all the rigging lights up to illuminate the set."

Batpod chase
Below are pictures of Batman (Christian Bale) being chased by Gotham Police on the Batpod. Christopher Nolan's Batman films are known for their chase scenes, but this one is said to top them all.
Here are descriptions of the scene:
From: Red Skull - Batman shoots a batpod shot at a pile of cop cars then charges forward up a car lift for wrecked cars on the batpod and crosses from the lift onto adjacent street. In another take we see him drive past a body on the ground then cops run to the body. It looked like a woman. I got pics. Also I heard on a mic of a crew member that banes stunt double was on a dirt bike. Batmans double was also riding the dirt bike. It was odd looking.
Wish I got shots of the "French stuntman" on the dirt bike. He did a few wheelies. I don't know if Batman rides the dirtbike in the movie or if they were practicing. The Batpod shot at the cop cars and then drove up the ramp. In the other takes, it drives past the body and then cops rush to the body on the ground.
From: Polaris - This scene was intriguing: Batman flees off as this mysterious body lies there, soon after a cop car shows up, the cop gets off and checks the body. Cut. After that the entire crew wrapped up immediately and headed over to a new location, where they rigged up lights + camera on a GPD car with actors inside.
